Where's Joe (Pops)

Post by Guest on Sat Mar 22, 2008 10:22 am

Only a few will remember the year we all lost my Pops! I was terrified, couldn't find him anywhere. Mom had been passed out for hours.

Me, Dorothy, Hoby, and many others looked and looked for him.

I went in and woke up mom, to break the news that we lost here husband.

I gently asked, "Mom, Mom have you seen Pops?" She said "No".

I said, "well we can't find him."

She said "He's here somewhere."

I closed the tent and went on about trying to find my Pops.

After looking for what seemed like hours and hours I went back to tell mom that while Uncle Hoby and Richard where playing with her husband they lost him. Irresponsible people!

I opened the tent and whispered, "Mom?", no answer. Again I whispered, a little louder, "Mom?" Still no answer. Now I am irritated because my mother doesn't seem to fear that her husband is amiously wondering in the brush by the Llano river. So, I was quite loud when I said "MOM?"

She sat up in a start and I found Pops, he had fallen asleep (passed out), rolled between the mattresses and mom rolled over on top of him, perfectly covering the little guy.

I think that the funniest part of this whole terrifying situation was that he laid there absolutely oblivious to anything going on around him and had this goofy grin on his face.

Once I told Hoby and Ricky they rolled around on the ground for hours laughing, but surely not at me (yeah right).

Priceless moments of the Smith Family Reunion!!

I love you all so much!
